ABOUT US
Established venture (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 certified, API, KITEMARK, and WRAS UK Certified) in the field of reinforced composite materials in the Middle East Region.
Smithline Reinforced Composites is an established manufacturer of RTRP/FRP/GRP/GRVE/GRE pipes, fittings, composite manhole covers etc. since 2005 in Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone, UAE. Our pipes are manufactured by automated CNC Machines by helical winding method. We use mechatronic technology that is employed to provide high degrees of reliability and flexibility.
Our product range includes 20 various products with State-of–the-art expertise from all over the world. We have a motivated work force of about 180 employees most of whom are well experienced and trained in the field of GRP. Our output is around 1000 tons/month of production. We use frontline technology with world class machinery. We also have a state of the art Equipment for testing and quality control.

Dual Helical Filament Winding:
Standard pipe manufacturing process in which the fiber glass roving is wetted with resin and is wound on steel mandrel at precalculated winding angles.
Liner layer:
The inner-most layer mostly impregnated with Vinyl Ester resin (90%) to provide maximum chemical resistance. The resin used will decide the extent of its chemical and temperature resistance.
Structure:
The structural wall is generally 70% glass and 30% resin providing it the optimum mechanical strength. The entire process is controlled via software in which we determine the winding angles as well as the number of layers to be wound on to the product.

Fiberglass or glass fibre consists of extremely fine fibers of glass. It’s the primary reinforcing agent in composite products called Fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) or Glass reinforced plastics (GRP).
Composite Materials as Steel Alternatives Transform Middle East Infrastructure

Across the Middle East, extreme heat and rapid urbanization are driving demand for resilient infrastructure in water, district cooling, utilities, and industrial sectors. Lal Abdul Salam, founder of Smithline Reinforced Composites in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, highlights reinforced composites as a strong, low-maintenance alternative to steel.
The regional water treatment market is expected to grow from $2.04 billion in 2024 to $4.72 billion by 2033 (CAGR 10.6%).
Smithline produces composite piping and engineered products for water, oil & gas, power, desalination, and industrial applications. Key advantages include superior corrosion resistance, light weight, and faster installation.
“The Gulf’s climate and demands are unique,” Salam says. “Projects lasting decades require materials with minimal maintenance and strong lifecycle performance.”
Salam entered the sector in the early 1990s. By the mid-2000s, successful UAE projects shifted perceptions toward composites for their speed of installation and long-term reliability.
The company focuses on R&D, automation, customization, and sustainability through waste reuse. “Innovation and collaboration drive growth,” Salam notes. “Performance and environmental responsibility must advance together.”
He emphasizes building trust with suppliers and clients ahead of challenges. As Gulf infrastructure investment accelerates, Salam sees composites playing a bigger role in delivering durability and long-term value — reinforcing the future.
Quality Control
All our raw materials are sourced from highly reputedcompanies and of very high quality. These raw material goes through stringent quality checks in our QC lab and then approved for use in production.
Glass – Moisture Content, Texture
Resin – Solid Contents, Reactivity & Viscosity, Glass Transition
All of our finished products go through strict quality control tests.
