Our major products are GRP pipes, GRV pipes, GRE pipes and pre-insulated pipes. Glass Reinforced Pipes, commonly called GRP pipes are made of fiber glass reinforcements which are set in cured thermosetting resin. Smithline's GRP pipes meet the needs of varied types of industries to carry corrosive and non-corrosive fluids for various industries like Oil & Gas, Power Projects, Petrochemical, Potable water, municipal & general industries .Our GRP pipes are competing with conventional pipes made with ductile iron, epoxy coated MS, PVC, HDPE as these are non-corrosive and will have a long life if it has a proper selection of resin.

GRP pipes combine the benefits of durability, strength, and corrosion resistance; moreover, they offer great design flexibility with the possibility to customize the pipe design in a wide range of properties, the same is applicable to providing a wide range of different fittings profile and shape.

GRP pipes are produced by smithline composites Factory by either the Continuous Filament Winding or by the Reciprocal Helical Winding process. Both are considered as filament winding machines, which is the process of impregnating a number of glass reinforcement with resin, then applying the wet fibers onto a mandrel in a prescribed patter.

The major applications of GRP pipes are in industries dealing with irrigation, potable water, sewerage, storm water, drainage, pumping stations, Reverse Osmosis Plants( RO Plants )and petroleum industries. Our GRP pipes are made to meet the needs of industry to transport corrosive and non-corrosive fluids for various applications for all major industries. As our grp pipes are corrosion resistant and rust free/scale free , it is extensively used in carrying potable water. These are relatively low in weight and have flow efficiencies that allow downsizing. Our pipes are made with high end precision that the maintenance cost stands at zero. GRP pipes from Smithline are UV resistant and are suitable for both above the ground and underground applications as well. These GRP pipes are produced and tested in accordance with international and domestic standards so as to authenticate the performance and efficiency of their physical and mechanical properties.

The major advantages of GRP pipes are its durability, its light weight nature, long life, less expensive, easy installation facilities, chemical resistance and mechanical resistance. The manufacturing process includes filament winding, dual helical, 2 axis and 4 axis. Our GRP pipes have a very long life i.e. around a minimum of 50 plus years . Also, the smooth interiors are also maintained throughout the life of the pipes. These are really cheaper than steel pipes and pre-stressed cement concrete pipes and hence is very cost effective. GRP pipes are light weighted and hence easy to handle and helps in easier transportation and faster installation. GRP pipes are also known to have low thermal conductivity which not only effects low temperature losses, but also eliminates condensation or the need for additional thermal insulation in many cases. They also have low maintenance cost as well as low pumping cost since the smooth interiors of these pipes resulting in low fluid resistance.

The various steps involved in GRP pipe manufacturing are mandrel preparation, linear preparation and curing, filament winding, pipe curing, pipe extraction from mandrel, applying the final outside layer with UV stabilizer. After completing the final layer with U.V. stabilizer, the uneven end of pipes are cut and calibrated in both ends for coupler joining and prepared for hydraulic testing & after that send to finish goods yard. Our GRP pipe wall is made up of three layers which perfectly complements each other and having different characteristics and properties in relation to their function.
